Learned Optimism Lesson in How To Change Your Mind To Change Your Life

Change Your Mind To Change Your Life, Learned Optimism Lesson

The bottom line is this: Change Your Point of View – Enjoy Your Life!

“Two men look out through the same bars: One sees the mud, and one sees the stars.”

– Frederick Langbridge

Learned optimism is something that you need to practice. You must make a decision to be optimistic!

For example, if you placed second in a writing contest, will you jump for joy and push for better results the next time or will you be discouraged and find an excuse not to join again?

In life, you are always filled with choices. You may opt to have a pessimist’s view and live a self-defeated life or you may decide to take the route of learned optimism and take on challenges to live a constantly changing, exciting and fulfilling life.

So why nurture the mindset of learned optimism as your point of view? And why now?

Well, optimism has been linked to positive mood and good moral; to academic, athletic, military, occupational and political success; to popularity; to good health and even to long life and freedom from trauma.

On the other hand, the rates of depression and pessimism have never been higher. It affects middle-aged adults the same way it hits younger people. The mean age of onset of depression has gone from 30 to 15. It is no longer a middle-aged housewife’s disorder but also a teen-ager’s disorder’ as well.

It is integral to your health to take on a lifestyle change of learned optimism and stay in action. Here’s the research that backs up why it really pays to be an optimist:

  • Optimists expect the bestThe defining characteristic of pessimists is that they tend to believe bad events, which will last a long time and undermine everything they do, are their own fault. The truth is optimists are confronted with the same hard knocks of this world. What differs is the way they explain their misfortune—it’s the opposite way. They tend to believe defeat is just a temporary setback, that its causes are confined to this one case.
  • Optimists tend to focus on and plan for the ‘problem’ at hand. They use ‘positive reinterpretation.’ In other words, they most likely reinterpret a negative experience in a way that helps them learn and grow. Such people are unfazed by a bad situation, they perceive it is a challenge and try harder. They won’t say “things will never get better,” “If I failed once, it will happen again” and “If I experience misfortune in one part of my life, then it will happen in my whole life.”  Positive expectancies of optimists also predict better reactions during transitions to new environments, sudden tragedies and an unlikely turn of events. If they fall, they will stand up. They see opportunities instead of obstacles. People respond positively to optimists
  • Optimists are proactive and less dependent on others for their happiness. They find no need to control or manipulate people. They usually draw people towards them. Their optimistic view of the world can be contagious and influence those they are with.
  • Optimism seems a socially desirable trait in all communities. Those who share optimism are generally accepted while those who spread gloom, panic and hysteria are treated unfavorably. In life, these people often win elections; get voted most congenial and sought for advice. When the going gets tough, optimists get tougher.
  • Optimists typically maintain higher levels of subjective well-being during times of stress than do people who are less optimistic. In contrast, pessimists are likely to react to stressful events by denying that they exist or by avoiding dealing with problems. Pessimists are more likely to quit trying when difficulties arise. Pperseverance is a characteristic of those who have taken on the learned optimism mindset. They just don’t give up easily, they are also known for their patience. They inch their way a step closer to that goal or elusive dream.
  • Optimists are healthier and live longer. Medical research has justified that simple pleasures and a positive outlook can cause a measurable increase in the body’s ability to fight disease. Optimists’ health is unusually good. They age well, much freer than most people from the usual physical ills of middle age and they get to outlive those prone to negative thoughts.

So why not take on the life-changing skill of learned optimism today? Think positively towards a more fulfilled life.

Why not look forward to success in all your endeavors? Why not be resilient?

Like everyone else you are bound to hit lows sometimes, but make a committed effort to just not stay there.

Carry yourself out of the mud and improve your chances of getting back on the right track.

Why not inspire others to remove their dark-colored glasses and see life on the bright side through a committed mental position of learned optimism?

What Are You Grateful For This Mother’s Day ?

What Are You Grateful For This Mother’s Day ?

I just had THE most  phenomenal day with my kids for Mother’s Day, so the obvious answer to the question “What are you grateful for?” is my kids.

My husband is a true HERO to me and I am so grateful to and for HIM. He wasn’t able to spend Mother’s Day with us because of his work, he was very much missed and we are grateful for him too!

I began to think about being grateful for the things in your life, often things that you don’t even really think about and take for granted.

A while back I created this list of 100 things that I am grateful for.

It’s a fantastic exercise, if you can’t think of 100 things to be grateful for, then you had better think again.

Check out my list and take some time to sit back and make your own.

This exercise is so very enriching and enlightening.

Here it is, my list of the 100 things I am most grateful for:

How To Implement the 4 C’s for MLM Success

How To Implement the 4 C’s for MLM Success.

You might be wondering what the 4 C’s even are, in that case let’s start from the beginning!

If you are not achieving the MLM Success that you desire from your marketing efforts online, you must first have a daily ritual or DMO, Daily Method of Operation.  You can learn more about exactly  How To Create a Method to Stop MLM Marketing Madness and ultimately achieve MLM Success by visiting this 3 part article I wrote.

Now, let’s talk about the 4 C’s, what they are and how you can accomplish them to get results and the MLM Success you have been focusing on.

The video below will explain this more thoroughly.

The 4 C’s for MLM Success :

  1. Create – your content can be anything from articles, videos, Facebook Notes, etc. Relevant information that your Niche market will find value in;
  2. Capture – use capture pages, web forms, landing pages, surveys to collect prospects names and emails to begin building a list that you can build relationships with;
  3. Communicate – build ongoing relationships with 10- 12 new people everyday in person to person conversations, over the phone or online through Social Media networking sites- begin to send emails to your list 5 – 7 times per week offering them value and assistance (don’t just try to sell them – remember the 80-20 rule)
  4.  Close – when you have built a relationship of know, like and trust with your prospects you will have the influence to begin to close them into sales of your products, services or business opportunities.

Your MLM Success will really begin to take off when your daily activities include the 4 C’s each and every day and you make a commitment to yourself and your business to implement these strategies ongoing for a 60-90 day period!

Anything that is worth doing is not always easy but if you commit yourself to this plan of action daily, your results will prove fruitful.

What is Your Narrative? How To Change The Story You Tell Yourself

What is Your Narrative? How To Change The Story You Tell Yourself.

You might be asking, “What is a Narrative?’

A narrative is often described as the

Internal  focalization

that takes place when events or thoughts are mediated through the point of view of the focalizer.

In simple terms, your Narrative is the story you tell yourself in the still, quiet of your head and deep inside your heart.

The unfortunate part about the internal narrative of most people is that it can be quite negative in nature.

I have recently become a member of a phenomenal group of people helping people and your internal narrative was the topic of our very intimate group call yesterday.

I recorded this video because I wanted to share the important information that we discussed but also how you can change the story that you tell yourself ABOUT yourself, each and everyday.

If you are fighting with negative thoughts and a personal narrative that will not allow you to succeed; you may want to join our Team and get some help to overcome your negative self talk, move beyond your perceived limitations and realize your true wealth and importance.

You Don’t Have To Do It All Alone!
