“Hey, this doesn’t feel right!”

I have been thinking a lot lately about that feeling that you get in your gut that tells you to run away… run far,far away!
You see, I had that feeling when I started my journey into home based business and internet marketing and started hearing all the lies of network marketing.
I was told by a number of different people when I first started out that all I needed to do was just get in!
Get In and we’ll help you! It’s very simple!
All you have to do is spread a few links around and it’s so simple with the use of Social Media now.  
Just get in and you’ll be making $5000/mo in no time at all!
So, you know the rest of the story…
I did get in, I did throw a few links around and when I kept coming up against the brick walls…
you got it…. there was no one there to help.
The sad part about it was that I knew deep in my heart that this could work!
I felt this passion to continue and grow and learn, so I kept at it.
I struggled along for months virtually on my own.
Truthfully it was in itself a real business lesson and I did in fact learn a lot on my own.
But, the problem was I still wasn’t generating any interest or leads.
It’s actually quite comical when I think back about it.
I remember being super excited receiving the link to my replicated website (which was just like everyone else’s in my network marketing company) and posted it in a number of different groups and pages on Facebook.
I actually went into my back office and sat there with my back office open, waiting for the leads to start pouring in!!
Well, guess what?
They didn’t.  I was doing the same thing as everyone else that said they were generating tons of traffic and making tons of money…
Lies, Lies, All Lies!!! The lies of network marketing!
I became very disillusioned with regard to growing my business and before long I I began to spend more money that I could afford on Marketing Strategy Training, Software and Ad Campaigns that brought me little to no results.
My husband began to scrutinize my business decisions and told me almost everyday…
“I told you so!!  This whole online GAME is a Hoax! 
It’s a SCAM!!  You have to get out of it!! Just stop now!!”
But, just as my stomach told me to run, my head was telling me that it just had to work!
There were so many leaders in the industry that were making real money!!
What was I doing wrong??
And then one night, I received a gift in the mail!!
It wasn’t a parcel in brown paper wrapping…
it was an email with a subject line that said, “You will NEVER have Success in your Home Based Business if you don’t understand this
I had just subscribed to the email list of this Industry leader and although I had heard this promise before a hundred times, or some version of it…

Now, I wish I could tell you that I registered for that webinar and within a few days I was making more money that I could have dreamed of.
That’s not true!
But the truth is that on that webinar I was exposed to the idea of Attraction Marketing.

How To Build Rapport The Real Way with 3 Simple Questions

Struggling to meet new people and don’t know the best way to build rapport?

Does the thought of creating new relationships and building rapport with new people make you feel like you want to stick your head in the sand?

Build Rapport the Real Way

Do you get the cold sweats when you think you need to come up with an elevator speech and have them magically want to work with you to build rapport.

So, what is Rapport anyway?

The definition of rapport by the FREE Online Dictionary is “Relationship, especially one of mutual trust or emotional affinity.”

The truth is that people will do business with people they know, like and trust.

If you start pitching new contacts right away, you will turn them off!

They don’t KNOW you, so they won’t trust or like you either.

It just doesn’t work to build rapport this way!

Take the pressure off yourself, you don’t have to do that.

You know that you are prospecting correctly if you are having fun and the other person is enjoying the conversation more than you are!

So what do you do to build rapport the REAL way?

 You ask people about themselves?

If you will use a few  basic questions and then follow up with one specific key question, you will be blown away at how people are attracted to you and how quickly you can build rapport with them.

These are feel good questions, questions that make people feel good about the conversation, about you and about themselves.

So how do you begin?

When you meet someone for the first time, you introduce yourself.

You can say, “It’s nice to meet you.”

“What do you do for work?”

The person will most often tell you and then ask you the same.

Be very low key about his questions and what you do, if you still have a regular 9-5 job, disclose that job.

Because really, the person doesn’t care!  People are generally more at ease in a conversation when they are talking about something they know about or bout themselves.

After the person asnwers the question, you want to go right back to them and introduce the feel good questions…

FEEL GOOD QUESTIONS are defined as questions that make another person feel like they are the star, make them the focus.


So ask this, “How did you get started in “whatever he/she does?”

Be genuinely interested.  People generally have fascinating stories.


“Wow that’s awesome! What do you enjoy most about what you do?”

Like you may have been taught in tradition prospecting and recruiting; you aren’t wanting to find out their pain yet. This is because the person doesn’t know, like and trust you yet.  Instead of finding their pain, find their joy.

Put a positive slant on the conversation, not a negative one by asking what he/she HATES most about their work!

Make the person feel good and want to share more!

It may get to a point when you want to find their pain, but that would be a ways down the road, not now.

Bob Burg is the Best Selling Author of “Adversaries into Allies” and the “Go-Giver” and has come up with

10 FEEL GOOD QUESTIONS that work very well when you are looking to build rapport. 

10 Feel-Good Questions®

  1. “How did you get your start in the widget business?”
  2. “What do you enjoy most about your profession?”
  3. “What separates you and your company from the competition?”
  4. “What advice would you give someone just starting in the widget business?”
  5. “What one thing would you do with your business if you knew you could not fail?”
  6. “What significant changes have you seen take place in your profession through the years?”
  7. “What do you see as the coming trends in the widget business?”
  8. “Describe the strangest or funniest incident you’ve experienced in your business?”
  9. “What ways have you found to be the most effective for promoting your business?”
  10. “What one sentence would you like people to use in describing the way you do business?” 

The One “Key” Question That Will Set You Apart From Everyone Else…

This is the 1 Key Question:

“John Smith, what you do is fascinating. How can I know if someone I’m speaking with would be a good prospect for you.”

Important: Please keep in mind that you won’t have time to ask more than two or three of these questions in any one conversation. These are questions people enjoy answering and they are simply meant to feel good and initially  build rapport.

The way you frame this question can help you.  When he/she answers the questions, you have found out what adds value to HIS/HER  life.

The person are  now are more interested in what you do because of how much interest you have in them, but this time may or may not be the right time to share.

This is a great question, but not everyone is in sales they may be in retail, etc. In that case you would say, “How can I know if someone I’m speaking with would be a good connection for you or someone you would like to meet or speak with.”

  1. Don’t treat people like numbers
  2. Be Real, don’t let the script run you. Know the script and  be truly interested
  3. Don’t be attached or addicted to the person asking you the same questions, don’t be addicted to the outcome. Focus on them. Posture is the lack of attachment to a specific act or desire “You gotta’ care, but not that much.”

If you are at a social event where there are a lot of people around and you have begun to build rapport with a few of them, introduce them to each other.  If you suggest that they might get together to do some cross prospecting or promotions and they are the right fir to work together, they will see you as a Leader and a goto person to help them.

Be sure to Follow-up.  Ask for a business card and send out a handwritten note  in blue ink that says…

“Hi “Name”, It was a great pleasure to meet you! I’ll keep my eyes open for good prospects/connections for you.”

Hope to chat soon.

Your Name.”

Send the note card as soon as possible in the mail.

Once your contact receives it, he/she will be much more inclined to speak with you on another occasion, because once again you are showing your interest in them.

Unless you can build rapport, motivate people  and move them to a significant action, you will not have success in this industry.

Getting others to commit to a decision and making them feel good about it is really the skill to great rapport building and prospecting skills.

When they say “YES!” and they most often always will… tell them you are rushed for time right now and set up a time to meet with them for coffee or set up a specific time to get back to them over the phone. This is the perfect time to get your upline or sponsor on the phone with them for a 3 way call as well.

What are your Ambitions?

What is the definition of Ambition?



  1. A strong desire to do or to achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work.
  2. Desire and determination to achieve success.
aspiration – ambitiousness – desire

Do Your have the self belief and motivation to succeed? Do you just know without a doubt that you will SUCCEED?

Do you know what motivates you and gets you going and what motivates other people?

Are your ambitions equal to your motivation to get things done?

What are your goals, dreams and hopes and are they equal in size to the work ethic and personal value that you hold for yourself?

These are just a few questions to ask yourself when you are feeling like your are not meeting your personal goals, needs and reaching the level of success or personal happiness that you dream of.

“What Truly are My Ambitions? What really Really Makes Me Tick?”

8 questions you should ask to yourself: a preparation to self-improvement and focus on building up your ambitions.

Be all you can be! I often see myself as somewhat contented with my life the way things are, but of course it’s hard to think of anything else when where are real issues to be discussed.

Still I aspire for something deeper and more meaningful.

So we’re all pelted with problems. Honestly there shouldn’t even be a second thought when we consider the life path of becoming all we ought to be. Aspirations and ambitions as kids should continue to live within us as long as we could hold on to them and our dreams.

1. What do I really want?
The question of the ages. So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about during the day.

Finding something that you are good at can help realize that small step towards improvement. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it.

2. Should I really change?
Today’s generation has taken another level of redefining ‘self’, or at least that’s what the teens are saying. It’s more about tying to live your true and real self today at a younger age than ever before.  But this new found Life Freedom and Empowerment of young people through ease of Knowledge online, complete transparency and through Social Media has also branded a “The world owes me something attitude as well.” Does this lend to lack of ambition or inspire to move forward into the endless possibilities that anything can be done, any dream can be achieved. I believe the majority of young people and adults alike have become inspired by the possibility that success can be achieved easier, through different channels than ever before because of the Internet.  As a result, this generation has had an increase in ambitions. Now, is there a work ethic to achieve those ambitions?

3. Am I comfortable with what I’m doing?

Are you happy to stay inside the protection and ease of your comfort zone?  Are you happy to remain still, unchanged and without growth and challenge?

4. Have I done enough for myself?
Have you, or is there something more you want to do? Discontentment in every aspect can be dangerous in large doses, but in small amounts you’ll be able to see and do stuff you could never imagine doing.

5. Am I happy at where I am today?
Simply look deep?  Are you fulfilled?  Do you desire more?

6. How much could I have?

I suppose in this case there is no such things on having things too much or too little, but it’s more on how badly you really need it. If you would  like to have lots of money, there’s no denying that, but the question is that how much are you willing to work for it?

7. What motivates me?
What motivates you? The difficult part here might be choosing the thing that makes you happiest and learning how to achieve it.

8.  What Really Makes You Tick?
So? What really makes you tick? You can be just about anything you always wanted to be, but to realize that attaining something that may seem very difficult is already giving up before you even start that journey. Always remember, that self-improvement is not just about the physical or philosophical change you have to undergo, but it’s about that internal, intrinsic desire within you.

Are your lack of ambitions getting you down? Remember…. Impossible is Just a Word.

Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. Who hasn’t fantasized about being the one who hits the game-winning homer? Who hasn’t dreamed of being the homecoming queen? And how many times have we dreamed of being rich, or successful, or happy with our relationships?

Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirationsand ambitions. Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that – dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic.

This is a sad turn of events in our life. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self actualization, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day just barely existing.

But you know what? Life could be so much better, if only we learned to aim higher.

The most common problem in having lack of ambitions and the to setting goals is the word impossible. Most people get hung up thinking I can’t do this. It’s too hard. It’s too impossible. No one can do this.

However, if everyone thought that, there would be no inventions, no innovations, and no breakthroughs in human accomplishment.

Remember that scientists were baffled when they took a look at the humble bumblebee. Theoretically, they said, it was impossible for the bumblebee to fly. Unfortunately for the bumble, bee no one has told it so. So fly it does.

On the other hand, some people suffer from dreaming totally outrageous dreams and not acting on them. The result? Broken dreams, and tattered aspirations.

If you limit yourself with self-doubt, and self-limiting assumptions, you will never be able to break past what you deem impossible. If you reach too far out into the sky without working towards your goal, you will find yourself clinging on to the impossible dream.

Try this exercise:

  • Take a piece of paper and write down some goals in your life.
  • Under one header, list down things ‘you know you can do’.
  • Under another header, write the things ‘you might be able to do.’
  • And under one more, list the things that that are ‘impossible for you to do.’
  • Now look at all the headers strive every day to accomplish the goals that are under things ‘you know you can do’.
  • Check them when you are able to accomplish them.
  • As you slowly are able to check all of your goals under that heading, try accomplishing the goals under the other header-the one that reads ‘you might be able to do.’
  • As of the items you wrote under things I could do are accomplished, you can move the goals that are under things that are ‘impossible for you to do’ to the list of things ‘you might be able to do.’

As you iterate through this process, you will find out that the goals you thought were impossible become easier to accomplish. And the impossible begin to seem possible after all.

You see, the technique here is not to limit your imagination. It is to aim high, stop focusing on lack of ambitions, and start working towards that goal little by little. However, it also is unwise to set a goal that is truly unrealistic.

Those who just dream towards a goal without working hard end up disappointed and disillusioned.

On the other hand, if you told someone a hundred years ago that it was possible for man to be on the moon, they would laugh at you. If you had told them that you could send mail from here to the other side of the world in a few seconds, they would say you were out of your mind. But, through sheer desire and perseverance, these impossible dreams are now realities.

Thomas Edison once said that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Nothing could be truer. For one to accomplish his or her dreams, there has to be had work and discipline. But take note that that 1% has to be a think-big dream, and not some easily accomplished one.

Ask any gym rat and he or she will tell you that there can be no gains unless you are put out of your comfort zone. Remember the saying, “No pain, no gain”? That is as true as it can be.

So dream on, my friends!

Don’t get caught up with your perceived limitations and lack of ambitions.

Think big and work hard to attain those dreams.

As you step up the ladder of progress, you will just about find out that the impossible has just become a little bit more possible.

The bottom line is this: Change Your Point of View – Enjoy Your Life!

Learned optimism is something that you need to practice. You must make a decision to be optimistic!

For example, if you placed second in a writing contest, will you jump for joy and push for better results the next time or will you be discouraged and find an excuse not to join again?

In life, you are always filled with choices. You may opt to have a pessimist’s view and live a self-defeated life or you may decide to take the route of learned optimism and take on challenges to live a constantly changing, exciting and fulfilling life.

So why nurture the mindset of learned optimism as your point of view? And why now?

Well, optimism has been linked to positive mood and good moral; to academic, athletic, military, occupational and political success; to popularity; to good health and even to long life and freedom from trauma.

On the other hand, the rates of depression and pessimism have never been higher. It affects middle-aged adults the same way it hits younger people. The mean age of onset of depression has gone from 30 to 15. It is no longer a middle-aged housewife’s disorder but also a teen-ager’s disorder’ as well.

It is integral to your health to take on a lifestyle change of learned optimism and stay in action. Here’s the research that backs up why it really pays to be an optimist:

  • Optimists expect the bestThe defining characteristic of pessimists is that they tend to believe bad events, which will last a long time and undermine everything they do, are their own fault. The truth is optimists are confronted with the same hard knocks of this world. What differs is the way they explain their misfortune—it’s the opposite way. They tend to believe defeat is just a temporary setback, that its causes are confined to this one case.
  • Optimists tend to focus on and plan for the ‘problem’ at hand. They use ‘positive reinterpretation.’ In other words, they most likely reinterpret a negative experience in a way that helps them learn and grow. Such people are unfazed by a bad situation, they perceive it is a challenge and try harder. They won’t say “things will never get better,” “If I failed once, it will happen again” and “If I experience misfortune in one part of my life, then it will happen in my whole life.”  Positive expectancies of optimists also predict better reactions during transitions to new environments, sudden tragedies and an unlikely turn of events. If they fall, they will stand up. They see opportunities instead of obstacles. People respond positively to optimists
  • Optimists are proactive and less dependent on others for their happiness. They find no need to control or manipulate people. They usually draw people towards them. Their optimistic view of the world can be contagious and influence those they are with.
  • Optimism seems a socially desirable trait in all communities. Those who share optimism are generally accepted while those who spread gloom, panic and hysteria are treated unfavorably. In life, these people often win elections; get voted most congenial and sought for advice. When the going gets tough, optimists get tougher.
  • Optimists typically maintain higher levels of subjective well-being during times of stress than do people who are less optimistic. In contrast, pessimists are likely to react to stressful events by denying that they exist or by avoiding dealing with problems. Pessimists are more likely to quit trying when difficulties arise. Pperseverance is a characteristic of those who have taken on the learned optimism mindset. They just don’t give up easily, they are also known for their patience. They inch their way a step closer to that goal or elusive dream.
  • Optimists are healthier and live longer. Medical research has justified that simple pleasures and a positive outlook can cause a measurable increase in the body’s ability to fight disease. Optimists’ health is unusually good. They age well, much freer than most people from the usual physical ills of middle age and they get to outlive those prone to negative thoughts.
